Get started in four easy steps
Register for a vendor account
Simply click on Register, fill in the store details and submit.
Step 2: Store information
Once your store is approved you will be sent instructions on how setup your store.
Step 3: Upload and Manage Products
Upload and manage the products that you would like to sell.
Payments and shipping
Vendors are responsible for shipping the products to customers. We charge a 13% commission on products sold. This fee covers payment gateway costs (3.5% + R2.00 ex VAT)

How do fees work on BuyLocal Shop?
We use a commission-based structure as shown below.
13.5% (processing fee) . All fees are deducted after a successful order has been placed. The fee covers delivery fees, marketing, returns & exchanges, transaction processing, administration and customer support services. This means you do not pay a single cent if we do not generate sales. Zero risk.
What do I need to do to create a shop?
- Sign up to be a vendor on www.buylocalshop.co.za
- We’ll get back to you with verification of your business.
- Once approved, add products i.e images, pricing, stock quantities.
- Products are listed on the site.
- Accept orders that come through email notifications.
- Package orders and prepare for collection.
- We collect from you and deliver.
- You get payment on fulfillment
Step by Step
- A buyer purchases a product from the Buy Local Shop
- The Vendor is notified and Buy Local Shop arranges delivery for the buyer or the vendor can handle delivery if they opt for it. The delivery cost will be added to the product payment into the Vendor account
- The Seller and admin agree on a collection date.
- The courier collects the parcel from the vendor and is paid the full amount with commision deducted before the product is released for delivery. There is no commission taken off the delivery costs, only product sales.
- Buyer receives the parcel from the Vendor.
- For example, Tshepo buys a beautiful, stylish watch from one of our Vendor Stores. It costs R100.00.
- After a successful delivery, Tshepo is ecstatically happy with his purchase, the Vendor receives R86.50 for the sale of the watch and Buy Local Shop receives R13.50 (13.5%) commission.
- If Tshepo has selected Delivery option of R100.00, it would have pushed his total to R200.00.
- Upon courier collection, the Vendor receives R86.50 for the sale of the watch and R100.00 for the delivery cost, totalling R185.50.
